FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been in business?
20 years! The President of ChristianDJ.com, a professional Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremonies, has owned and operated a small group of entertainment companies since 1989.
What kind of experience do you have?
The President and Lead DJ of ChristianDJ.com has served at hundreds of events, including wedding receptions, corporate parties, family celebrations, reunions, graduation parties, and even aboard a cruise ship. Our Masters of Ceremonies and Senior DJs have at least 3 years of experience in their specialty. All Junior DJs and Technicians possess at least 1 year of experience in the event entertainment industry.
Will you pray for us? Will you pray at our event?
Our Christian entertainment professionals are not shy about their faith in Jesus Christ. Behind the scenes, we will be praying for God’s guidance and His abundant blessings upon our clients and their events. We are glad to pray openly at your event in accord with your directions. For example, we will gladly provide the Prayer and Blessing of the Meal and/or say a prayer upon the Bride and Groom’s departure from their reception. All of our prayers will be appropriate to the occasion, God-honoring, and will always mention Jesus Christ by name.
What type of equipment do you use?
We use only established brands of professional-grade sound, lighting, and video equipment that we have thoroughly field-tested, including: Yamaha and JBL speakers, QSC power amplifiers, HP computer equipment, Numark mixers, Denon and Numark compact disc players, Shure microphones, American DJ lighting, and Gator flight cases.
Do you have a wireless microphone?
Yes, we include in all of our DJ packages a wireless handheld microphone at no additional charge. Note that occasionally, a wireless microphone will not operate properly in or around large cities where there are an abundance of conflicting radio signals. In those cases, we will substitute a wired microphone. However, we have found these occurrences to be rare.
What type of music do you play?
We play the music that you ask us to play and refrain from playing the music that you ask us not to play. Our collection includes Christian and positive mainstream music selections. Want Christian music only? Christian and clean secular music? No problem.
Music is a powerful medium in our society. We pay special attention in screening our music selections for inappropriate content. Content is generally inappropriate when it glorifies illicit or overt sexuality, violence, criminal behavior, and/or substance abuse; contains negative racial, ethnic, or gender-related epithets; uses degrading language; takes the Lord’s name in vain; or perpetuates heresy.
As Christian DJs, we will always defer to our clients’ spiritual convictions regarding music styles and selections.
I see that you have music on your computer. Does that mean it is pirated music?
Yes, we have a significant amount of music on our computer. No, none of our music is pirated. All of our music is copyright-law compliant, meaning that we own an original copy on compact disc and have legally uploaded a copy into the computer, or we have paid for and directly downloaded each song from legitimate online music retailers. Music is the lifeblood of our industry and we are glad to pay the market rate for legal music in order to support song writers, musicians, artists, recording studios, and everyone else who plays a role in keeping fresh, uplifting music flowing into the marketplace.
What are your prices?
Prices vary depending upon the type of event, day of the week, number of hours, add-on services, time of year, economic conditions, special promotions, and the like. Contact us for a price quotation tailored to your specific event.
Why are some DJs prices lower than yours?
Just like any other business, prices vary based on a number of factors. However, low prices often reflect a lack of quality, cutting of corners, or lack of experience. The pricing of legitimate entertainment-providers are often significantly undercut by companies that hire inexperienced DJs, fail to carry insurance, use sub-standard sound equipment, use pirated music and other media, hold no memberships in industry associations, fail to invest in continuing education, fail to donate services to charitable events, and the like. Let’s face it, everyone has a cousin or knows a kid down the street who ‘deejays’. Perhaps an economical choice for a block party or backyard barbecue, but likely a disaster-waiting-to-happen at your wedding reception or corporate event where a large investment of time and money or your professional reputation are on the line. Let the buyer beware!
Will you perform at any and all types of events?
No. We reserve the right to refuse events that are inconsistent with our company’s mission or goals, incompatible with our booking schedules, or for reasons of conscience.
